Rogues get a brand new website!

22 09 2009

We now have a brand new website, which has been built from the ground up especially to suit our needs, and which shares resources with the websites of many of the local clubs, so that we can bring you even more exciting korfball news than ever before!

Rogues vs Bucks 4

7 05 2009

Rogues played a fantastic friendly against Bucks 4 on Thursday at Courtside. Both sides had some new players and a smattering of more experienced korfballers.  Bucks opened the scoring but the lead was taken away by Rogues; goals were then exchanged until the score was 4-3 to Bucks, whereupon Bucks scored another to extend the lead to two goals for the first time in the game. Rogues scored a goal and then piled on plenty of pressure, but Bucks held on for the win. It was a really good game and a fantastic contest which has surely done wonders for the beginners on both sides.

Rogues 4 – 5 Bucks

Rogues: Michael M (c), Ed (2 goals), Cecile (1 goal), Jo Lindsay, Emma G (1 goal), Emma L, Jim, Joe.

Bucks: Adam (2 goals), John (1 goal), Toby (1 goal), #35 (1 goal).

Rogues vs Colossus

6 05 2009

Rogues had another friendly on Tuesday 5th May, against Colossus. Unfortunately, Colossus were very good and opened up a 4-0 lead; Rogues then pulled 2 goals back through Emma L and Jim, before Colossus scored another 4 to win 8-2. It was a good game with some great highlights from Rogues, but Colossus were just too experienced for us.

Rogues: Jim (c, 1 goal), Cecile, Mark Ha, Steph, Mike, Emma L (1 goal), Katie P, David, Ed, Jo Lindsay.

Colossus: Laura (c, 1 goal), Kelly, Joe (1 goal), Lee (1 goal), Ruth (1 goal), Graham (2 goals – inc 1 penalty), Mark Ho (1 goal), Holly (1 goal), Claire Lewis.

Change of Venue

3 05 2009

Walton High’s sports hall is not available to us for the next six weeks, as it is in use for exams.

Therefore, we are moving to Oakgrove Leisure Centre hall for the next 10 weeks. Oakgrove is the big school over in Middleton area- MK10 9JQ. We only have the hall 8:30-9:30, but it’s a nice hall and there’s no hassle with the reception closing there!

Rogues vs Bucks Beginners

5 03 2009

Rogues played their first match against some Bucks beginners (with the occasional first teamer in there for Bucks, but being generous).  Rogues borrowed a new Wallaby and two new Colossus players but fielded 6 of their own.  Final score was a 4–7 loss but Jim & Cecile W, Eleanor and Ian scored.  The match was set to be ‘MK City 3 vs Bucks beginners’, but the Rogues are so great that most players who wanted to play were Rogues, so Darren renamed the team accordingly!  Well done to all who played.

Rogues Hits the Web!

19 02 2009

Walton Rogues is a new korfball club (the fourth adult korfball club in Milton Keynes), which launched in Milton Keynes in January 2009. Please peruse this site to find out anything you want to know about us; if there’s anything we haven’t covered here, don’t hesitate to drop us a line at tuesdays@mkkorfball.co.uk.

Or just turn up on a Tuesday and ask me in person- giving it a go will give you a much better feel for korfball than a website will, after all!

Michael
